Stormy Peters of OpenLogic to Discuss Legal Concerns of Open Source at LinuxWorld 2007
Broomfield, Colo. (PRWEB) August 7, 2007 -- OpenLogic, Inc. (http://www.openlogic.com), a provider of enterprise open source software solutions encompassing hundreds of open source packages, today announced that Stormy Peters, Director of Community and Partner Programs at OpenLogic, will be speaking at LinuxWorld 2007 on various open source legal concerns, and the tools and methodologies Global 2000 companies have adopted to address these concerns.
A survey of CIOs shows that more than 80% of enterprises are already using or intend to use open source software. As adoption of the technology grows, legal concerns around its usage demand more time from management and attorneys. As a result, many companies are developing in-house legal expertise around everything from copylefting, to keeping up with new licenses, to addressing the potential for lawsuits and indemnification. In her presentation, Stormy Peters will discuss their ongoing concerns and the ways in which they address these concerns.
